Zodiac Craft 26.2: A Huge Summer of Updates
8 minute read
FatherJasper

A lot has been happening across the Zodiac Craft network.

Over the past few weeks, we have introduced entirely new systems, expanded Survival and OneBlock, improved support for Bedrock players, launched hundreds of new quests, started rolling out cosmetics and furniture, upgraded Discord integration, and even soft-launched the new Zodiac Craft Wiki.

Some of these updates are immediately noticeable. Others are improvements happening behind the scenes to make the network more polished, stable, and easier to use.

Here is everything that has been happening across Zodiac Craft.

The Zodiac Seasons Have Begun

One of our biggest additions has been the new Zodiac Seasons system.

Seasons now follow the real zodiac calendar and introduce seasonal quests, daily buffs, community goals, and server-specific rewards throughout the year.

After Leo came to an end, Virgo Season officially began, bringing a new collection of challenges and rewards for players to work toward.

You can explore the current season in-game and keep up with its quests, goals, and rewards as the constellation continues moving through the zodiac.

This system will continue evolving as every sign gets its time to shine.

Hundreds of New Quests

Questing received one of its largest expansions yet.

Survival

Survival now includes 700 new quests, including:

  • Standard progression quests

  • Daily quests

  • Weekly quests

  • Mastery challenges

Run /quests in-game to start exploring them.

OneBlock

OneBlock received its own massive quest expansion with 400 new quests, also featuring Daily, Weekly, and Mastery content.

Whether you enjoy mining, building, farming, fighting, exploring, or simply working toward long-term goals, there should be plenty more to keep you busy.

Cosmetics and Furniture Are Coming to Life

You may have noticed staff members running around with some unfamiliar items lately.

That is intentional.

We have begun testing and displaying more of our upcoming Cosmetics and Furniture systems.

Cosmetics have been soft-launched while we determine exactly how we want them integrated throughout the network, and yes, Bedrock players are included too.

We are also experimenting with furniture and new cosmetic displays to give players even more ways to personalize their characters, homes, shops, and builds.

On top of that, we have been working on new rank nameplates in chat, giving ranks a little more personality and making them easier to recognize.

There is still more work happening behind the scenes, but these systems are starting to come together.

Better Bedrock Support

Improving the experience for Bedrock players continues to be a major focus.

Several recent updates were specifically designed to make things easier across platforms.

Bedrock skins now import correctly, and we have also added a new Anvil GUI in Survival that makes enchanting much easier for Bedrock users.

Players reaching the third player rank across the network also now have access to /list, providing another easy way to see who is currently online.

Our resource packs have also been streamlined. The Origins resource pack was combined with the cosmetics pack, meaning players no longer have to deal with separate downloads when joining.

Our goal is for Java and Bedrock players to feel like they are part of the same server, not two separate experiences.

Proximity Voice Chat Through Discord

Voice chat has taken a major step forward.

Zodiac Craft now supports proximity chat through Discord, including support for both Java and Bedrock players.

We also added Text-to-Speech support for Discord voice chat.

Players who prefer to remain muted can use /join through the bot commands area and participate in voice channels using text instead.

It is another way we are trying to make social features accessible to more members of the community.

Survival Continues to Grow

Survival has received plenty of improvements of its own.

The Mall Is Open

The new Mall is officially open.

Players can purchase stalls and create their own shops to buy and sell items with other members of the community.

This gives player-run businesses a dedicated home and creates another destination for the Survival economy.

Jump Straight Into the Wild

Jumping off the Survival Spawn island will now automatically transport you into the Wild.

No extra menus. No unnecessary commands.

Sometimes jumping off the edge really is the answer.

Bottled XP

Bottled XP has also been introduced as a rank progression reward.

Continue ranking up to unlock access.

Extract

Following feedback from our community survey, Extract was added to both Survival and OneBlock.

Hold the tool you want to use, type /extract, and follow the prompts inside the GUI.

Brewery Expansion

The Brewery system received a major update with more than 20 new drink recipes, updated drink names, corrected effects, adjusted recipe values, and a new drink guide menu.

Older drinks may need to be recreated because of the recipe changes.

Origins Fixes

Origins received several important fixes.

Enderians can once again be damaged by water as intended, Merlin is working again, and underwater block breaking has been corrected.

Players wanting to breathe outside their normal environment can still make use of Water Breathing potions.

More Survival Changes

A few additional changes include:

  • Root rank now has access to /back after death.

  • Mobs have been disabled in the Resource World.

  • Claim protections now prevent players from creating home locations inside protected land where they cannot normally break blocks.

  • Player shops were repaired following shop-system issues, although some previously created shop chests may need to be remade.

  • Sign editing issues were also corrected.

OneBlock Improvements

OneBlock has been getting plenty of attention as well.

The island protection range was updated so players receive an additional 25 blocks of protection with each Rankup.

Jumping off the OneBlock Spawn island will now send you directly back to your island.

Wandering Traders were added and can be leveled up and restocked by feeding them.

Phantoms have also been disabled.

Prices for automatically farmable items were lowered to help keep the OneBlock economy balanced.

The OneBlock shop was expanded to include newer blocks, and claim protections were updated in the same way as Survival.

And after some trouble behind the scenes, Lucky Blocks have been fixed and should now work correctly during your OneBlock phases.

Special Signs and Hidden Tags

Keep your eyes open around the server.

Special signs have been hidden around the spawns of Survival, Creative, and OneBlock.

Find one and right-click it to unlock new Tags.

Some things are better discovered than explained.

Creative Updates

Creative has seen a smaller collection of changes while our focus has been on other areas of the network.

Mob spawning has currently been disabled, although this may be revisited in the future.

Special hidden Tag signs can also be discovered around Creative Spawn.

More Creative updates will come as we continue working our way around the constellation.

New Events and Mini-Games

Our Events server has been receiving some love too.

We introduced Block Shuffle, where players must race to stand on the correct color before the floor disappears. The last player standing wins.

We also added our custom Zodiac Games system, giving staff better control over events and making rewards easier to manage.

New NPC Player Guides can now be found throughout the event halls. Right-click them for information about different activities.

Several halls and event areas have also been redecorated.

And our New Beginnings Event was officially scheduled as part of saying farewell to the previous era of Zodiac Craft and celebrating what comes next.

A Better Hub

The Hub continues becoming more than simply the place you spawn.

A Donor Lounge has been added, giving supporters a new area to explore.

We also added a custom Zodiac Broadcast Display to make important messages, restarts, and event announcements much easier to notice.

An Archery activity with multiple difficulty levels and a leaderboard has also been added to the Hub.

The Tab display has been updated as well, making staff roles and colors much easier to identify while team members are online.

Our Custom Staff System

Behind the scenes, we introduced a custom Zodiac Craft Staff system.

The goal is to give our team better tools for assisting players, handling reports, managing moderation, and keeping the network running smoothly.

Players may not always see these systems directly, but they make a major difference in how quickly and consistently our staff can help when something goes wrong.

Discord Is Becoming Part of the Server

Our Discord integration continues to expand.

The in-game chat channel now displays information from across the network, including:

  • Current player counts for each server

  • Which servers players are currently on

  • The active Zodiac Season

We also introduced a new Hiring channel for players interested in getting more involved with the Zodiac Craft team.

Surveys have also become part of our development process, helping us determine which features players actually want. The addition of Extract to Survival and OneBlock is already one example of community feedback directly influencing development.

The Zodiac Craft Wiki Has Soft-Launched

Another major project has finally started opening its doors.

The new Zodiac Craft Wiki has officially entered its soft launch.

The Wiki is being built as a centralized home for guides, commands, features, mechanics, and other information players frequently need.

Instead of searching through months of Discord announcements, we want players to eventually have one place where they can learn almost everything about Zodiac Craft.

You can find the Wiki through the main Zodiac Craft website.

We have also added an Enchantments page to the website as we continue expanding our online guides.

The Online Shop

The Zodiac Craft Online Shop continues to support server development and help fund new features.

Players can currently use:

Code flowerpiig for 10% off.

You can visit the shop at:

shop.zodiaccraft.com

Expect the shop to continue evolving alongside upcoming cosmetics, furniture, and other features.

Lots of Fixes Behind the Scenes

Not every update gets a giant announcement.

Throughout all of these releases, we have continued testing plugins, fixing bugs, cleaning up GUI menus, adjusting systems, and improving server stability.

BannerMaker was updated and repaired.

Season-related bugs were corrected.

Shop systems were fixed.

Sign editing was repaired.

The /rtp command was removed from places where it should not have been available.

Resource packs were consolidated.

Lucky Blocks were repaired.

Origins received important fixes.

And plenty of smaller improvements have happened along the way.

These may not always be exciting enough for their own announcement, but they are an important part of making Zodiac Craft feel better every time you log in.

And We Are Not Finished

Version 26.2 has become one of the biggest periods of development Zodiac Craft has seen.

In just a few weeks, we have expanded quests, launched Seasons, improved Bedrock support, introduced new Discord features, opened the Mall, expanded OneBlock, started cosmetics and furniture testing, created new events, improved our staff systems, and launched an entirely new Wiki.

And there is still plenty more being built.

As always, if you discover a bug or run into an issue, please create a ticket through our Discord so the team can take a look.

Thank you for playing, testing new features, filling out surveys, reporting problems, suggesting ideas, and continuing to be part of Zodiac Craft.

Every player is another star in our constellation, and we cannot wait to show you what comes next.

See you among the stars. ✦
